Mayra

Sanchez

Graduate Student

Mayra’s research examines the socioeconomic factors which influence individual views on environmental protection, especially in relation to regional waste management initiatives. She is from Mexico City and spent several years in the Chicago area where she got an undergraduate degree in Communication, Media & Theatre from Northeastern Illinois University. Outside of her studies, Mayra has also held a wide range of job titles, from forklift driver to accounting assistant, which has inspired her interest in everyday life and the sociocultural dimensions of decision making.
